Pimp My Room

Been wanting to rearrange my room for some time now, and finally I had a little profit on my account, so sometime last week I decided to do something about it.
I spend a lot of time looking through magazines and homepages to find some nice and cheap furniture.

I was convinced I wanted a new desk, since my old one is a corner desk, which was starting to annoy me.
Then i somehow managed to find IKEA’s homepage, which I guess is not surprising when looking for furniture.

I quickly decided on the desk, and was pretty happy with the price, I went on looking for other stuff and ended up finding a few other things.

At first I just thought i’d order it online and have it sent by mail, due to the fact the closest IKEA is in Århus (100km away) but I quickly realized it would be way too expensive, especially now that it was not only a desk.

So I persuaded my mother to drive up there and have a look, and we ended up taking the trailer and my sister with us too.

There was a swarm of people in the store, dont think i’ve ever seen so many people before in one store. Anyway I managed to find the furniture I had decided to buy from home.

It was crappy weather all day, extremely windy and rainy, and it of course only lasted the one day we we’re away.

Now it was time for the rearranging to begin.
The first thing I did was to almost empty my room, since I moved/switched all the furniture it was a necessity, and it would also make the cleaning a whole lot easier.
After a lot of hard work I slowly started to put together the furniture, which was actually pretty easy, thanks IKEA!

I also bought a few posters from www.allposters.com all 61×91cm, pretty cheap and a big selection.
Bought some frames in my local supermarket to make it look a little nicer, just sucks that the frames we’re more expensive than the posters.

Now for the crazy part, but also the best in my opinion, I’ve long wated a big lcd tv (who haven’t?)
I found this very cheap 37″ from a danish company called laptops.dk
The tv is called Play V371H, hadn’t heard of them before so I did a little digging and it seems to be a swedish company which went bankrupt.
And because of that laptops.dk bought a lot of cheap lcd tv’s from them.
The tv was only 592e (was 1330e before), so i’m very happy. I dont see any reason to buy one from Sony or Samsung and pay twice as much just for the name.

So I went on a made the order, and of course I had to do it a Thursday, which meant I first got it Monday. And since I had been a little bit sick all weekend I decided to stay home from school and greet my new tv, my mother woke me up around 09:00 and told me that the mail was here.

Yay!

At this time the rearranging was almost done so I connected the tv as fast as possible.

It was a little expensive (50e) but it seems to be worth it, the quality is great.

Celebratin’

Today I turned 18!
Just came home from the restaurant (Jensens Bøfhus) where I had a nice steak.
As for presents, from my sister I got a Wacken 2007 t-shirt, not the best of them, but since they seem to be sold out everywhere it’ll have to do. From my mother I got a nice Thors hammer necklace and 133e, pretty cool.
The rest of our family will come in the weekend for coffee.

Also I have to mention this! I went a little crazy yesterday and decided to delete my whole xvid archive, so that gave me around 600gb free space in a few seconds, now I at least wont have to spend money on a new harddrive as I was planning to do.
The reason I decided to delete basically all my movies, is that I’ve started to watch everything in 720p, and since a lot of movies is available in that quality nowadays, I dont see any reason to have a worse copy on my harddrive.
So now I use the 2 harddrives, I used as xvid folders before, as 720p movie folder (320gb) and tv folder (300gb)

TV Season 2007

Finally my favorite time of year has come, not beacuse of the cold and depressing weather, but because all my tv shows starts again.
I have a feeling I might be in for too much this year, last year I had enough to do, and then I didn’t have school.

After watching a few preairs and the fall previews from FOX, NBC, CBS and CW I ended up adding quite a few new shows, here’s some of them:

Some time ago I ordered 2 LP’s and 1 cd, today it was finally in the mail.

Alcest & Angmar double LP - Tristesse Hivernale/Aux Funérailles Du Monde.
The 2 first demo’s from these excellent french bands.
Limited to 500 copies.

Kampfar - Kampfar
Kampfar’s first EP released on vinyl.
Limited to 300 copies of blue, red and white vinyl, I chose the red version.
The first 66 copies of each color included a nice patch.

Wyrd / Häive / Kehrä split.
Metal case limited to 200 copies.
This also included a Wyrd patch.

I have my own income very soon, so hopefully my collection will grow a little faster.

Wacken 2007

Came home from wacken last sunday, and yet again it was a great trip.
I was picked up wednesday by napol, epp and his mother, after that we went to pick up enil and drove to the train station.
We spent 15e on the ticket, and the conductor wasn’t even on the train.
About 1½h later we arrived in Fredericia, where we had to wait around 1 hour for the bus to pick us up.
Nothing happened, first after another hour the bus finally came.
I was really surprised about how much the danish participation has changed in only 1 year.
Last year we were less than 10 people in Fredericia, this year we had our own bus, so thats around 70 people, out of 185 total.

After a few hours in the bus we got to the border where we bought some beers and a little booze.
There was a little competition in the bus, where they would play a song, and the person first to guess the song would win a cd or a t-shirt. I was really annoyed that they only played classic heavy metal from the 80’s, so i basically had no idea about what was playing.

At around 20.00 we were 8 km outside Wacken, but the tailback was insane, the next 4km took 4-5 hours, first then the bus got permission to drive in the other lane and drive another way.

When we finally got off the bus it was around 02.00, the only advantage was that there was no line, so we got our bracelets very fast.

Then the next problem occurred, since we arrived after 20.00 our reserved camp was taken by random people, so we had to find a place to put up our tents in totally darkness and mud everywhere.
We ended up making camp pretty close to the entrance.

When we woke up the next day we found out that there was a big tent right beside us, they had their own generator and played loud music 20 hours a day, so not exatly easy to fall asleep.
Also for some reason it was very popular to start fires right outside our tent, the fire department was there twice putting out fires, mostly it just started with someone buring a chair, then people would gather and start throwing clothes, furniture and all sorts of stuff on it.

The next 2 days was mostly drinking, since all the main bands we were gonna watch played saturday.

The 2 best concerts in my opinion was Moonsorrow and Kampfar, it might have somehting to do with that they both played in the W.E.T. tent, it was easy to stand very close to the scene and and there was a great atmosphere.
Saturday we got up at around 08:00 and packed our tents, went down to the pick up place and waited for the bus.
The trip home was very quiet, and I was halfway sleeping most of the way. enil’s mother picked us up in Fredericia.

The first thing i did when i got home was take off my clothes and take a nice and long shower.

Busy busy

The next few months is actually going to be pretty busy compared to what I’ve been doing for some time now.

First I’d like to start by saying that Tour de France begins tomorrow, even though it’s only a 7,9km prologue. Me and the FVANG team (epp, enil, Napol and Kopaka) made our own league at this danish news site, that has a manager game for the tour.

I actually ordered 2 of the Wyrd splits, since epp wanted one.

I’m going to Germany with my mom and sister next week, just for some shopping.
I guess that means beer and soda for me.

The 20th-22nd we’re going to visit petsen in Århus, so far i’ts me, enil and epp, I’m not sure yet if Kopaka and Napol is coming. vk should be there too, and we get to meet old-schooler Doffy (he’s petsen’s roommate)

After that it’s Wacken from the 1st of August to the 5th.

I’m also going to do a bigger update later about some school related stuff.
I’ll write more when I know some more details about the whole thing.

So yeah! busy couple of weeks, and in between all the gaps I’ll be watching Tour de France all day.

Home alone Zerox style

A little follow up on my last post. I finally got my cd \o/ pretty cool.
Ripped it to FLAC and deleted my 192kbps mp3’s.

I was alone home this evening which meant that I’d have to make food myself!
Or kinda, my mother bought me some patty shells, and all I had to do was heat them, so that fits my cooking skills rather nicely.

Merchandise

Long time since last update, the main reason being that I’ve been too lazy/haven’t had anything to write about/no one seemed to care about blogs anymore.
But since people started to take an interest again, i guess its time for a little news.

Bought some cool stuff lately! About two months ago i got the Amesoeurs - Ruines Humaines LP.
I like it a lot, even though i dont have a record player.
Also I would like to mention that its the white vinyl version. Only 220 copies were made, and another 800 on normal black vinyl. The white vinyl also includes a Amesoeurs patch to sew on your clothes.. Though I dont think i have any clothes worthy enough.

I’m not sure why, but it’s first recently i realized that it was still possible to buy some of the older Wyrd t-shirts, I found some italian shop and ordered it from there, a few days later i got my very own Wyrd - Rota t-shirt, pretty damn fancy!
Haven’t been able to locate the Vargtimmen shirt yet. It’s possible I’m too late.

I’ve liked Peste Noire for some time now, It’s basically the band which got me into French BM.
I pre-ordered their new cd “Folkfuck Folie” some days ago, pretty stupid name, but as long as the music is good I dont care. Also the cover artwork makes up for it.

Last but not least I HAVE to recommend the new Alcest cd “Souvenirs d’un autre monde”.
Without a doubt my favorite release of 07 so far. The promo leaked some days ago, and since then I havent listened to anything else. I’m definitely going to buy this when it gets out.

Late night cooking

I was a little hungry and since i havent updated my blog a lot recently I decided to take pictures of the whole process.

I’m not sure if this food even has a name, not as far as i know at least.
Also this can be eaten at any time of the day in my opinion.

The first thing you need to do is cut some bread.

Then you basically pick out all the bread, so only the edges are left.

Now its time to heat up the pan, and get the eggs ready. Remember to use lots of butter!

Now you hatch the eggs, and put them into your bread in the pan.

After a few minutes you can see the progress, and doesnt it look delicious?
Dont use too much heat, or it’ll get burned and taste like crap ;(

And here we have the final product. I like to have a little salt, pepper and ketchup on the top of mine.

Now all thats left is to bring the food, to the place where you’ve planned to eat it. In my case in front of the computer.

If you havent tried this you really should. It’s easy and fast to make also it taste really good.

Chopper

Chopper (2000)
skint0r recommended this movie to me a few days ago, and today i finally watched it. And i must admit it’s one of the best movies in the “biography” genre i’ve watched.
At times it almost feels real, almost as if it were a documentary about the actual person, a lot of the credit has to go to Eric Bana who does an amazing performance.
I was a little confused in the beginning and wasn’t too impressed. But after the stabbing scene around 10 minutes into the movie i was hooked. The only bad thing there is to say about this movie is that it’s only 94 minuts long.
It’s only rated 6.9 on imdb which is way too low in my opinion. I gave it an 8.
